I know it’s a bit too late but I really just want to share you my thoughts about this overrated product, the Silisponge or the Silicone Sponge.

If I’m not mistaken, this was released early this year and everyone was raving about it. Basically, it is a silicone use as a sponge when doing make up.

I bought mine months ago out of curiosity and I’ve been really wanting to buy it but I have only seen it available online but I bought mine at BYS at Watsons.

I put the product directly on the sponge and I am used to slightly squeezing the sponge to have a better grip of the sponge.

When applying your foundation, I would suggest that you use a dubbing motion instead of the gliding motion suggested on the packaging. When you use the gliding motion, it creates a streak and marks.

I would suggest that you use a dubbing motion, same as when you are a regular blending sponge. It will create a more finish and smooth look but it does require more work than a regular sponge.

What I love about this is how easy it is to clean and it makes it more hygienic to use than a regular beauty sponge.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I think that this product was over hyped. I really don’t love nor hate the product but I guess I’d rather use a brush or a sponge to create a more airbrush finish and will take me less time to do my make up than using the silicone sponge. What I really love the product is how easy it is to clean and how hygienic it is.

Definitely will not be my go-to foundation applicator. I guess I’ll be using this when all my sponge is too dirty to use but again, this was an over hyped product and really not worth buying if you are satisfied with your blenders.

That it is for today’s blog!
