If you are familiar with different Korean skincare brands, then you must have heard of COSRX before. They are famous for their high quality and effective products. One thing that really stands out for me is their line of chemical exfoliators.
I am also a huge fan of their Good Morning Low pH Gel cleanser so I was so excited when I was chosen to review this set of COSRX AC Collection by Style Korean. If you are not familiar with Style Korean, then you are totally missing out! Style Korean offers a really competitive price compared to other online shops, they also have good sale evet.
The set that was sent to me included:
- AC collection calming Foam Cleanser
- AC Collection Calming Liquid Mild
- AC Collection Blemish Spot Clearing Serum
- AC Collection Lightweight Soothing Moisturizer
- AC Collection Ultimate Spot Cream
- AC collection Acne Patch
AC Collection helps alleviate skin problems. It received the best results from clinical tests on acne-prone and hypoallergenic skin.
The packaging of these products is very sleek just like the other products of COSRX. This collection has a very minimal design; no fuss in using the products. They are all packaged individually in a box that comes with all the important product information.
The moisturizer and cleanser come in a plastic tub, same goes for the spot cream except that it has a pointed tip for better control of product dispense. The liquid mild and calming serum is in a frosted high-quality plastic bottle, the serum comes with a dropper.
Refreshing cleansing foam that gently removes skin waste, sebum, and dead skin cells with soft foam to make the sensitive skin pure and clear.
Key Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Myristic Acid, Lauric Acid
Experience: Before using this cleanser, I was using a gel cleanser that is really hydrating so when I tried this for the first time, I was taken aback that it was slightly stripping, not too much that it feels like there is no moisture in your skin left. I wasn’t used to that feeling anymore since I centered my routine with hydrating products. Compared to other stripping cleansers that I have tried, this didn’t give me that tight feeling which is good.
The top ingredients are acids and I am sensitive with acids, there is only a certain point where my skin can handle it before it becomes sensitize so using this twice a day daily wasn’t a good decision on my part because it irritated certain parts of my face like my upper lip and chin are. However, I did see my acne calming down every time I use this cleanser.
This is that cleanser I would reach out for when I have breakouts because it does its job in calming my acne; not too much of a daily cleanser.
…mildly prescribed product that removes unnecessary keratin and sebum and soothes skin.
Key Ingredients: Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Butylene Glycol, Dimethyl Sulfone
Experience: This also has some acids but it is on the lower end of the ingredient list so it is not too overpowering for my skin. Leaves a supple feeling on the face and makes it look nourished. I like to get a cotton pad and soak it with this product and place it in a certain area where I have super bad breakouts because it helps calms down those areas and removes redness.
This is that toner that I would love to keep in my stash for those days I have breakouts. I also like layering this with another hydrating toner to give the best of both serums.
A refreshing daily serum that aids brightening, soothing, and aftercare for the skin barrier, after skin trouble has passed
Key Ingredients: Propolis Extract, Niacinamide, Tea Tree leaf oil, Asiatic Acid, and Madecassic Acid
Experience: Unlike most serum, this has a very liquidy texture, certainly a little goes a long way with this product. I tried using this after the cleanser and toner but it made my skin sting. I am not too entirely sure which one to blame but it could just be that I incorporated too many acids in my routine.
I haven’t seen much improvement in the lightening effect of this serum to my dark spots however I can really feel that this is hydrating.
A lightweight facial moisturizer for acne-prone skin and able to keep your skin balanced
Key Ingredients: Propolis Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water Niacinamide
● CentellAC-Rx Complex: This formula not only treats acne but also helps revitalize and recover the skin without any irritation through COSRX Centella AC-Rx Complex. The calming formula includes three legendary healing ingredients–Madecassic Acid, Asiaticoside, and Asiatic acid.
● Oil-Free Prescription: It gives a light and non-sticky moisturizing sensation and it is suitable for acne-prone skin. This moisturizer soothes the highly heat-sensitive skin and cools down the acne-prone skin.
Experience: This is truly a light moisturizer so I instantly fell loved it. There is a slight cooling feeling with this moisturizer and a hint of honey scent. I can see myself including this in my everyday routine especially when I have dry patches. I could recommend this also not only to oily skin but to those suffering from acne but is prone to dryness. This will really help your skin barrier get the nutrients it needs.
Spot cream with a mild ingredient that helps strong sebum adsorption. It gives a fast and powerful soothing effect to the skin troubles.
Key Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water, Zinc Oxide, Cetearyl Alcohol
Experience: My favorite out of all the products. This is really an amazing spot cream that calms down my acne. Some acne flattens overnight while some do take time, especially for those stubborn ones. It doesn’t irritate my skin at all even if I put a thick layer overnight and most especially doesn’t clogs my pores.
Oval shaped, highly adhesive acne patch suitable for covering several adjacent acne spots at once. Patch that not only helps the acne disappear without a scar but also helps soothe and calm the spot.
Key Ingredients: Mineral oil and Centella Asiatica.
Experience: I love how this has 3 different sizes and the oval shapes are really unique for an acne patch. It flattens stubborn acne but when it has a puss, it doesn’t pull it out compared to their master pimple patch. So if you want that puss pulling patch, you can just stick to the master one.
Overall, there are hits and misses. This collection really came on time because I was and still is having a bad break out. The weather and my sleeping habits are totally killing my skin. I totally loved the moisturizer and spot cream. The cleanser will stay on my stash for those breakouts. I have yet to play more with the serum. The Mild liquid is okay.
